K is for Vendetta

So this is my turn; my initiation into the wonderful world of blogging. Wish me luck.
Wanted to share a little something I read which I think is extremely interesting...

I first came across this in the guardian a couple of months ago.. there was a piece of writing by a photographer and above, a picture of a woman, casually holding a knife in front of a dashing backdrop of rather garish curtains..
Anyway, the story underneath explained the mentioned woman's predicament. She had been caught in one of the many blood feuds of Northern Albania. After the fall of the communist regime in 1991, there were no proper laws or police so people went back to the old practices of the Kanun. These ancient unwritten laws dictate that if someone is murdered, the family of the victim HAVE to take revenge.
The woman in the picture was waiting to kill her husband's murderer, but of course if she did then she would become a target and would have to not leave her house and hide indoors, indefinitely. The story goes on to say that she carries a gun in her handbag but couldn't be photographed with it in case the authorities saw it and sent her to jail.
This post would be so much better if I could actually find the picture I have been talking about, but I have been searching online for days and still no luck...

This one will do though..

Something tells me that no one will read this, or if someone does they will lose interest within the first couple of sentences But it really is interesting if you look it up and read about it more. Its craaaazy how these things are happening in the world and a lot of us are unaware of it.

If anything this post is just for you Lars. mwah
